Food-grade film delivery from China: how we helped the client save 7% on logistics

Reducing costs without compromising quality is a challenge we solve regularly. Our client used to import food-grade film from Russia. We handled their transportation and saw an opportunity to source a similar product from China.

As a result — even after accounting for transportation and customs — delivery from China was more profitable.
The client saved 5–7% on each shipment by optimizing the route.
Why did China turn out cheaper than Russia?
1. Optimization of logistics costs and market timing.
We monitored the market and picked the right moment — when the rate for China–Uzbekistan delivery was at its lowest. This allowed us to offer the most cost-effective solution.
2. Saving on total procurement cost.
Even considering the route, cargo transshipment at the border, and customs, China was the better option. The client saved 5–7% per shipment — no delays, no compromise on quality or delivery deadlines.

What challenges we solved:
Risk-free routing.
We planned around potential delays and created a flexible supply chain through Khorgos.
Fast cargo transshipment and final delivery.
The film was reloaded quickly and shipped to Tashkent using reliable China–Uzbekistan transport corridors.
